About

Hi, my name is Ricardo Bodra, born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Prior to earning a physician assistant degree from Des Moines University, I worked as a dialysis technician and caregiver at a skilled nursing facility that is dear to my heart. When I am not working, I like to discover new literature, try news restaurants, and play basketball or futebol (soccer). I appreciate the longevity of relationships that I get to build in family medicine. Building health literacy takes time, and I look forward to listening and learning about the life experiences behind each great individual seeking care at MercyOne. I have special interests in preventive care, geriatrics and the treatment of obesity, diabetes, and hypertension.

Ricardo is not my usual provider Dr. Blaess was not available, he listened as I explained what Dr. Blaess normally prescribed for my ear infection. This antibiotic is not the first choice for ear infection, I have a long history of ear infection and I know what works. He understood and referred to my chart and Dr. Blaess past practices. That made it very helpful.
