A new Covenant Clinic location in Oelwein on the fourth floor of Mercy Hospital will begin services on Monday, December 4. Covenant Clinic Convenient Care and Occupational Medicine will see patients from 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Convenient Care is a walk-in clinic for individuals of all ages with no appointment necessary. Health care providers will offer high quality medical care for all illnesses that are not life-threatening. Patients are able to visit when their primary care provider’s office is closed, when they are unable to schedule a convenient appointment with their regular provider, or when they can’t wait to feel better.
In addition to Convenient Care, Occupational Medicine will provide quality and convenient occupational health care to Oelwein businesses and their employees. As a part of the Covenant Clinic network, the staff will have additional support from Occupational Medicine offices in Cedar Falls.
Covenant Clinic is the first in the Oelwein community to offer urgent care and occupational medicine services. "Our goal is to increase access for families, and this is especially important in rural Iowa," said Jeff Halverson, Vice President of Covenant Clinic. "We know the need exists now, and we're eager to provide the services for the community."
This joint-clinic will be staffed by Michael Atherley, PA-C and Lori Dettmer, ARNP. Atherley is already well-known to the local community of Oelwein, having given 17 years of service to patients in family medicine. Dettmer brings 25 years of health care experience to the clinic, including 16 years in occupational health and four years in Convenient Care.
Patients can find Covenant Clinic Convenient Care & Occupational Medicine on the fourth floor of Mercy Hospital, at 201 8th Avenue SE in Oelwein.
