Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare-Iowa (Wheaton Iowa) is pleased to welcome Hilary Snyder, LMHC to Covenant Clinic Psychiatry in Waverly. Snyder is a licensed mental health counselor who started with the clinic at the end of November.
Ms. Snyder is excited to be joining the organization and stated, “I have always had the desire to help people. I have always enjoyed guiding people to see their full potential and work with them to make a plan so that they may reach their goals."
Ms. Snyder received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Iowa in 2010 and her Master of Arts in Rehabilitation & Mental Health Counseling from the University of Iowa in 2012. She received her State LMHC License and became a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor in 2014. Ms. Snyder worked as a dual diagnosis specialist for the Abbe Inc. PACT Team from 2012 to 2013 and as a residential counselor for Prelude Behavioral Services from 2013 to 2016. She worked as an outpatient counselor for Sedlacek Treatment Center from 2016 to 2017 and as a behavioral health liaison for Wheaton Iowa from April 2017 until she joined the Waverly clinic.
"I see Waverly as a vibrant, involved college town where I can use my skills to enrich the lives of community members who are dealing with various life issues, such as drug and alcohol addiction, family discord, or post-traumatic stress,” she said.
Ms. Snyder lives in Waterloo, where she also grew up and attended high school. She enjoys kickboxing, fitness, kayaking and camping; and is active in playing music. She enjoys concerts and theatre performances.
