Mercy Health Network - Central Iowa is a unique department of Mercy Medical Center– Des Moines. This department exists to fulfill the mission of the Network which is part of an alliance of Mercy health care providers dedicated to enhancing organizational performance, care delivery and the health of our communities. Along with a vision to be the nation’s most influential and innovative network of rural health care providers, the Network will collaborate to create a distinctive experience for our patients, employees and medical staff.

Mercy Health Network - Central Iowa provides:
- Management oversight – in conjunction with Board, hire and employ CEO (Management contract only)
- Joint performance review of Administrator/CEO
- On-site supervision whenever Administrator/CEO has an unplanned, extended absence from Hospital or in the case of resignation.
- Managed Care contracting reviews
- Telephone consultation services to facility by Mercy Medical Center leadership who are not Network staff including, but not limit to, third party reimbursement, medical records management, planning, marketing, public relations, quality assurance, materiels management and information services.
- Temporary staffing – Upon request and subject to availability of personnel from Mercy, e.g. CFO, DON, Pharmacist, etc. (Fees outlined in contract)
- Educational opportunities/classes that are offered at Mercy are available to affiliate employees, or may be offered at local facilities through special arrangement.
- Management meetings – service, education and networking opportunities

Performance Improvement programs including 6 Sigma™, DMAIC, RPI,
LEAN and Workout™ methodologies.
- Annual Medicare cost-reporting preparation.

Special administrative projects (depending on staff
availability: operational assessments, mock surveys, etc.)
- Approximately 90 meetings scheduled for various hospital departments such as education and Performance Improvement, among peers during calendar year 2008.
